Konola Academy is a private, boarding high school located in Liberia, West Africa owned and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Beginning as a mission in 1935, “Konola Mission” was established in the 1940’s, 62 miles from Monrovia, the nation’s capital. This 87-acre site was near a small river named Kono. Konola means "the place of Kono" or "mouth of the river Kono."
With a focused, concentrated effort, AFKA's goal is to support Konola Academy financially, physically, and in any way possible. The other focus is to seek out, meet and socialize with other Alumni and Friends of Konola Academy and share experiences with unity and respect.
School Ode
O we love the halls of Konola
That surrounds us here today
And we will not forget though
We be far, far away
Thru the hallowed halls of Konola
Where we live and learned to know
And shimmer off in the twilight
Like the old vesper bell one day; a hush will fall
The footsteps of us all
Will echo down the halls and disappear
Why as we sadly state
Our journey far apart
Apart from every heart will linger near
In the sacred halls of Konola
Every voice will bid farewell
That through the years we see you
In the sweet after glow
